The evidence suggests that there is ittle water currently on the surface of Ceres. However, measurements indicates that there is water located just under the surface. Scientists still do not know how much water there is or what form it is in.
Scientists also found evidence of water vapor around Ceres. The vapor may be produced by ice near the surface sublimating (transforming from a solid to a gas) when Ceres is relatively close to the Sun.
Surface features like Ahuna Mons provide more evidence of water under the surface.
