Ahuna Mons is 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) high and 11 miles (17 kilometers) wide. It is the tallest feature on Ceres.
Scientists believe that Ahuna Mons is a volcano. However, the temperatures inside Ceres are not high enough to melt rock. Instead of erupting with lava (melted rock), scientists believe that a frozen mix of mud, ice, and water containing salts and minerals flowed out of this ice volcano.
