Mud Volcanoes on Earth

A mud volcano is a different kind of volcano found on Earth. When it erupts, mud, water, and gases escape instead of lava. 

Most mud volcanoes are generally much smaller than the more familiar volcanoes that erupt lava. While some mud volcanoes have a cone shape, others have no visible structure above the surface.
