You are now going to whittle down your list of goals to find the one that has a realistic scope, qualifies as civic action, and has a realistic time frame.
Someday goals, right now goals
Someday we can make sure that everyone has enough clean water to drink. Someday we can end discrimination and give everyone a fair chance.
Those are solutions to big problems. But they are too far away to reach. Think of far-off goals as “someday” goals.
“Right now” goals are goals that you could accomplish in the next several weeks, months, or year. You want a “right now” goal for your YSU project.
With your group, discuss which of your possible project goals are “someday” goals and which are “right now” goals. Write your answers below.
