Scientists collect data to help them understand how things work. For your windsock experiment it is important that you remember three things:
1. Keep your data collection process the same each day.
2. Place the windsock in the same spot each day.
3. Measure the wind strength at about the same time each day, choose a time (for example, 4 - 5 pm).
When experimenting and collecting data it is important for scientists like you to follow the same process over and over again.
