Oatmeal, Raisins, and Fractions: Read It!
You have been looking at some of the connections between addition and multiplication in this lesson. Knowing how to add fractions can help you think about how to multiply a fraction by a whole number. Now read this story about two students who are baking three batches of oatmeal raisin cookies for a bake sale. They need to use what they know about addition and multiplication to make sense of all the fractions that they see.
