Organizing Your Thoughts
In this lesson, you have learned about some techniques for making effective arguments. Now, you will construct your own argument for a change you’d like to see in your school. First, review the notes you have taken by clicking MY WORK above.
Then, click Organize It to arrange and edit the notes you've taken under five headings:
- Problem/change: What problem are you focusing on? What needs to change?
- Audience: Whom will you try to persuade?
- Opinion/claim: What are you arguing for or against?
- Evidence: What facts support your opinion or claim?
- Frames: What frames might you use to make your argument clear and convincing?
