Emma Yang, a teenager from New York City, designed an app that would help people living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. Alzheimer’s is a neurological disease that affects a person’s memory and decreases one’s ability to carry out daily functions.
Emma’s grandmother lives in Hong Kong and has Alzheimer’s, which afflicts 44 million people worldwide. Emma is creating an app called Timeless, which uses facial recognition technology to help Alzheimer’s patients recognize people. The app also provides them with updates from family and friends so they feel included and loved.
