Okay, your homework is done, you’re ready to talk about the job, and your social media accounts are looking great. It’s time to get dressed! Watch the video for some tips about what to wear and what to avoid.

To make a good impression with your appearance:
• Try to find out what people at that work environment normally wear so you can dress accordingly. Aim for slightly dressier than the everyday work attire at that place.
• Choose conservative clothing and jewelry.
• Make sure your hair, teeth, and fingernails are clean. Use deodorant.
• Make sure your clothes are clean and ironed and your shoes are clean and polished.
• Wear very little perfume or cologne.
• Wear minimal makeup.
• Do not smoke.
Remember: just because clothes are expensive doesn’t always mean they are the best choice for the workplace. Likewise, if an outfit doesn’t cost much, that doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work for an interview. There are several non-profit organizations that help people find appropriate business attire for little or no cost.
