Text features help us analyze text. Text features make it easier to locate and learn key facts or information in a text. Text features are tools that show you what you need to know while reading and learning.

In this lesson we will learn about the heating and cooling of water (with help from penguins!) as we learn to recognize and use seven text features:

•  bold print,
•  subheadings,
•  glossaries,
•  indexes,
•  icons, and
•  infographs.
