About Ostriches...
An ostrich can’t fly – but it can run! Ostriches can run at over 40 miles per hour, and cover over 10 feet in a single stride. Their speed is made possible by their hoof-like feet, with two toes each, and their powerful legs. An ostrich can see where he’s running, too: they have the largest eyes of any land animal. Ostrich eyes are nearly as big as billiard balls, and they take up more space in the bird’s head than its brain!

Meet the Ostrich...
"Those other birds must think they’re really hot stuff, flying around like it’s the easiest thing in the world. Well, who’s the biggest? Who’s the strongest? Who’s the fastest? I’d like to challenge that crow or lark to a foot-race and see who the real tough bird is! I’ll be down the road before that smug goose can shake a tail feather! In the meantime, there’s more than one way to fly, isn’t there?"
