Throughout history, there have been many women warriors. They have actively been involved in protecting their rights, their culture, or their land. But many of them have had to prove their worth in order to be treated as equals with men.
Women have always struggled to be seen as equals to men and to be "allowed" to do the same things as men. One of the most famous examples of this struggle is the Women's Suffrage Movement. In the United States, women were not allowed to vote until the 19th amendment was ratified in August of 1920. However, even then most Native American, African American, and Asian American women were still not allowed to vote.
