In this video, I travel by car with my friend Haya to see the pyramids. We cross the Nile River and meet up with Farid in Giza, just outside of Cairo. The Great Pyramid is the oldest and largest of the pyramids in Giza.

The pyramids were built about 5,000 years ago as tombs for the pharaohs. Ancient Egyptians believed in life after death, so they built special resting places for their rulers. These incredible structures were built without the use of wheels or animals, such as horses or camels, to carry the heavy stones!
Watch the video again. Write down one or two facts about the pyramids. Think about questions such as: Who built the pyramids? Why were the pyramids built? Where are the pyramids located?
