Egypt has been a great civilization for thousands of years. More than 5,000 years ago, in ancient Egypt, people built grand cities and made many advancements in government, science, religion, art, and architecture. Ancient Egyptians invented a form of writing called hieroglyphics. Today, Egyptians read, write, and speak Arabic.
