The Glossary feature provides definitions for vocabulary terms. Definitions can include text, images, and/or audio recordings. You can access the full glossary list for the lesson by clicking the Glossary button. Note that not all interactive lessons have glossaries.
Here is an example from an interactive lesson about the Underground Railroad:
The Underground Railroad borrowed many of the same names associated with actual railroads: “Depots” and “stops” were places where slaves hid. “Passengers” were the escaping slaves. “Conductors” helped move people from place to place.
The Match It activity lets learners review or assess their vocabulary knowledge.
Learners can practice close-reading techniques to analyze a piece of text in a Highlight It activity. Here's an example from an interactive lesson about renewable energy, in which learners read the transcript of a video they have just watched:
