Interactive Lessons let students (or teachers) step through a sequence of pages, in which they learn about a topic through media, readings, and a variety of engagement activities. Lesson users can work at their own pace and save their work, in order to come back at a later time to complete the lesson or to submit the work as an assignment. Teachers can assign interactive lessons to their students through PBS LearningMedia and other platforms such as Google Classroom.
There are a variety of models for interactive lessons. Some interactive lessons can take most of a class period to complete, or they might extend over several class sessions. Others might take only a few minutes and are meant to be used as activators for a new topic or unit. Some interactive lessons, especially for pre-readers, are teacher-directed and can be presented as a full-class activity.
