Now observe these models that show how wave energy travels through water.
The model on the left shows what happens to the water as the wave energy travels through it. The dots represent points in the water. Use them to help you see how the water moves. Notice what happens to the dots (the water) as the wave passes through the water.
The model on the right shows what happens to a bird on the water as a wave passes. Notice how the passing wave affects the bird.
