Describing Seasonal Weather

Words like cloudy, rainy, hot, and windy describe daily weather. Temperature, precipitation, amount of clouds, and wind are four factors that make up weather. Daily weather can change at any time. A windy and cloudy morning can turn into a calm and sunny afternoon.

Even though weather changes daily, weather patterns can be seen over many years. Those patterns make up the typical weather that people expect each season. Different locations expect different weather. Some places have snowstorms in the winter, while others have cool temperatures and rain instead of snow. In most states, it is warmest during the summer.
