Welcome to the Ashfall Fossil Beds Virtual Tour, a field trip experience that takes you to the Hubbard Rhino Barn, where the famous paleontologist Mike Voorhies discovered nearly 100 complete rhino skeletons. The site also holds the remains of other animals like horses, camels, turtles, and cranes. Researchers study this location to learn about how these animals lived, including their diets, diseases, social behaviors, and population changes. It's a unique place that gives us important insights about ancient wildlife.
This experience is designed to provide an engaging, educational and entertaining tour of the fossil beds and main park areas. You will notice a variety of icons and images that allow you to interact with the scenes to either navigate back and forth or open hotspots for more information or close-up view of an area or animal or to learn more and test your knowledge.
