Be a Birdwatcher! Look for real-life birds that you can watch or observe. Find them outside, at a zoo, or at a pet store. Challenge: Make a notebook into a birdwatching journal.  Write in your journal the things you learn by watching birds.

Make a Chart! Find two books about the same topic, or two texts with the same main idea. Take turns reading your two books together, and discuss what is the same and what is different.  Make a chart with "SAME" and "DIFFERENT" columns at the top. Then fill out your chart together by listing the same and different things you discovered.

Chirp About Birds! Find pictures or photographs of 5 different kinds of birds. Talk about what is the same or different about each.  Challenge: Find a website that plays the sounds and songs that different birds make.  Impress your family and friends when you learn to match birds to their songs and sounds!
