About the Jack Russell Terrier...
Jack Russell terriers are among the most athletic of dog breeds. They were originally bred for fox hunting, and they love to dig holes. These dogs have very strong hindquarters, which makes them great jumpers; a Jack Russell may stand only one foot tall, but can jump nearly five feet high.
A Jack Russell named Bothy was the first dog explorer to travel to both the north and south poles! Bothy travelled with his owners in 1982, as part of an expedition to travel around the globe. Bothy had to stay bundled up in freezing temperatures, unlike his wolf cousins, who have thick fur layers to help them tolerate cold.

Meet the Jack Russell Terrier...
"Hi there! I’m Jack! I love running, racing and chasing. There’s just a part of me that just loves digging a hole, jumping a fence, or seeing how fast I can run around the yard. At only twelve pounds, I’m one of the smaller dogs at my obedience school, but that hasn’t stopped me from being MVP of the Frisbee team! You should see me jump! I just have to stay active – otherwise, my mom says I start bouncing off the walls. But I love bouncing! And jumping. And leaping and bouncing.....Anyone for Frisbee?"
