As you saw in the previous video, some experts believe robots have the potential to become highly effective tools, but not complete substitutes for human workers. Even autonomous robots are not perfect. They need humans to ensure they are maintained and working correctly.
Watch this video and learn how one employer uses robots to improve job performance, without replacing human workers altogether. After you watch, consider how a robot could be involved in your future career.

CHRIS HINMAN: LMV specializes in underbody spot welded assemblies. We couldn't get certain skilled labor within Kansas City. We partnered with Northland CAPS.
MEG REINHARDT: Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies, you go to school for half the day and then you come here and you work with actual business partners. And then the second semester of that program you get an internship.

HINMAN: You can see a 19-year-old kid performing work that we would go out of the country to get people in here to perform.
REINHARDT: I really like the aspect of working with your hands. You know you're fixing clamps and you're working with the actual programming of the robots that are on the floor.
HINMAN: We want to grow and expand our helping kids in our educational system of today.
REINHARDT: There are kids that excel in hands-on environments and that needs to be catered to. Robots maybe taking over the world, but there's gotta be someone who builds them.
