The Florida Everglades—Life in the Balance: Read It!

Farming and development have drained lots of water from the Everglades over the years. In fact, the Everglades have shrunk to only half of their original size. The result is less habitat for wading birds like the one pictured here.

In this lesson, you have seen some of the amazing plants and animals that inhabit the Everglades biome. You have also learned about the physical conditions that make the Everglades a good habitat for biodiversity.
