As the climate changes, many places are experiencing longer and more frequent droughts. People and communities that stay informed and prepared about drought will rebound more quickly and recover more fully. Ways to adapt to the effects of drought range from simple individual actions to conserve water in daily activities to large-scale efforts such as developing new infrastructure to meet water demands. In agriculture, one way to reduce water usage and loss is to replace sprinkler systems (above left) with drip irrigation (above right).
