Organize Your Work
In this lesson, you’ve learned how three types of disruptions—habitat loss, loss of primary prey, and the introduction of invasive species—can impact animal populations in their ecosystems. Now choose one of these disruptions and outline a response to the question:
What do you think might happen if this disruption occurred in an ecosystem near you?
Use one of the following ways to demonstrate your ideas:
- Describe what would happen in an essay.
- Produce a graphic organizer, digital poster, or other visual model that you can upload or link to.
Include evidence from the lesson in your work. You may use other sources as well if your teacher directs you to. Also be sure to incorporate the relevant vocabulary words from the list at the bottom of this page.
Tips for Structuring a Visual Model
If you are creating a visual model, your work should include the following elements:
- Title
- Image(s) and/or description of the disruption
- Diagram(s) that represents the disruption’s impact on the ecosystem (be sure to visualize both physical and biological components)
- Brief description or explanation of the elements presented, including a comparison from the examples in this lesson
