Scientists can’t predict exactly what will happen when a species is lost from an ecosystem. However, one might expect certain direct and indirect effects to follow. These effects may be seen in a change in population of one or more other members of the ecosystem.
Directions: This table presents some disruptions and the direct and indirect effects they produce. In the empty spaces, type in the name of the species that belongs with each sequence of events. Also, describe the missing disruption or effect in each sequence.
