Few kids can say what engineering is or what an engineer does, but being part of a DSG club can change that. As kids experience the fun and excitement of engineering firsthand, they begin to see the possibilities of engineering and invention in their own lives. These moments are great opportunities to talk to them about engineering, invention, and careers.

Here are some tips on what you might say:

• Engineering is a process of developing solutions to problems. Invention is a process for creating things that didn't exist before. 

• Engineers and inventors use creativity, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of technology, mathematics, and science to invent, design, and build things that make a difference in people's lives.

• Engineers and inventors are creative, they connect people, and they help build a better world!
