Now it’s time to show off what you've learned about nonverbal communication skills and their importance in the workplace.

You have 3 minutes to prepare a client for their first job interview. What do you want your client to know?

With your checklist to guide you, use Write It to draft a script you could use to get these ideas across.

2. Make a video.

You and a partner will act out the “do’s and don’ts” related to one or more aspects of nonverbal communication discussed in the lesson.

Your workplace scenario could be an interview, a meeting with your boss, or an important presentation to a client.

3. Conduct a mock interview.

You and a partner will take turns playing the role of interviewer and interviewee. 

  • If you’re being interviewed, tell your partner the job you’re going after so they can ask the right kind of questions. Then, make a good impression!
  • If you’re giving the interview, use the checklist you developed to score your partner on how well they do. Be sure to watch how they enter the room, how they say goodbye, and everything in between.

After you and your partner have played both roles and shared observations, you may use Write It to upload a picture of the checklist you filled in during your partner’s interview. Include notes on what they did well and how their nonverbal communication skills can be improved.
