Picnic Lunch!

Grab snacks and a blanket and have a picnic lunch inside your fort.  Talk about the book you just read and make plans for the next book and activity you will do together.  

Character Charades!

Pop some popcorn and take turns pretending you are a character in a book you have read together.  Try to guess the book character being acted out.  You can also play while dressed up as your favorite book character.

Dance and Sing!

Play some upbeat music using safe, kid-friendly lyrics designed for young children.  Hip-hop, bee-bop, pop, and beat-boxing music is perfect for dancing and singing! (Go to PBS LearningMedia and search for music by grade level and genre, or go to PBS Kids to find songs from favorite shows and characters.)  Make home videos of your singing and dancing.  Replay the videos so you can draw your dance steps and write the song lyrics. Teach them to friends and family.
