About worms...
Earth worms work hard to help our plants grow! As worms burrow, they consume soil, leaves and roots, picking up minerals and nutrients to survive. Those nutrients are deposited in their waste, helping to keep the soil healthy! In order for worms themselves to stay healthy, they must take in oxygen and water, just like other animals. Worms absorb oxygen through their skin. In order for that oxygen to absorb, their skin must be moist. Damp soil provides the perfect place for these crawlers to hang out!
