The setting of To Kill a Mockingbird gives us a glimpse into the daily lives of Atticus, Scout, and Jem Finch in the Deep South during the Great Depression. It also shows us that many of the other characters’ beliefs and values were typical of a time and place when racism was still rampant and ingrained into daily life.
