Modern Globalization and Its Effects

Introduction

Globalization is the process by which people and goods move across borders and make the world a more connected and interdependent place. While globalization dates back to ancient times, it has changed significantly in recent years. Today, globalization includes the worldwide movement of people, ideas, money, goods, data, weapons, computer and biological viruses, greenhouse gasses, and more. In this lesson, learn what globalization is and how it influences the creation of consumer goods. Then, using the information in the lesson, write a thesis statement that answers the essential question.

Essential question

To what extent do the benefits of modern globalization outweigh its negative effects?
