Honeybees—what are they good for? The name "honeybee" gives us a clue about what they do. Can you imagine a world without honey?

Did you know that these busy insects are much more important to humans and our environment than just the sweet, sticky stuff they produce? In fact, every third bite of food that we eat would not exist if it weren't for honeybees!

Let's take a closer look at a project to breed and raise healthy bee colonies in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. Along the way, you'll learn why honeybees are so important to our food supply and the environment.
