As your child masters reading simple words, the next step is to read words with more letters, sounds or syllables.  Consonant digraphs are important for your child to recognize because the letters go together to make their own unique sound. 

Consonant digraphs can be found in many words at the beginning, middle and end of words.

When reading words have your child circle or highlight consonant digraphs they find in words

When writing words have your child circle or highlight consonant digraphs.  Discuss whether a digraph is found at the beginning, middle, end of the word.

Make flash cards of common consonant digraphs so you can practice together.
