Be a Detective!  Write the words who, what, where, when and why on a pad of paper.  Then find a mystery to solve in your home or neighborhood. (Is there a missing sock? Did someone eat the last cookie? Where is the dog’s bone buried?) Use your who, what, where, when and why  list to solve the mystery!

Make a Word Diagram!  You can find wordle or word cloud apps by searching online, or you can create your own using a list of common words.  Here is a word list to get you started:  child, chili, chew, chin, cherry, chalk, chart, cheer, chap, she, shell, shut, ship, shark, shirt, shine, shop, the, them, then, think, third, thump, thud, thunder, whale, whim, whine, whisper, whistle, whiz.  Challenge: make your own diagraph word list for this activity!

Find Hidden Digraphs!  Find and circle digraphs in magazines, newspapers, coupons, food labels – you will find them everywhere!
