Draw Pictures!  Write each word below on a piece of paper, then draw a picture of each word.  Use pencils, markers, crayon, glitter, paint or chalk!

Use these words:  hat  dog  cat  mop  box  bed  fan  bat  bug  pin  cup  sun.  You can make up your own word list and keep drawing!

Play Nonsense Words!  Write one letter of the alphabet on each of 26 index cards or paper squares.  Spread the letter cards on a table or floor face down, with vowels (a, e, i, o, u) in one pile and the consonants in another. 

To Play: each person draws two consonants and one vowel.  Make a CVC word on the floor (consonant-vowel-consonant) and sound it out.  Is it a real word or a nonsense word?  The person with the most real words wins!  Challenge:  Add cards with consonant blends (fr, fl, br, bl, gr, gl, pr, pl, cr, cl, tr, tw, sl, st)  Play again making "consonant blend"-vowel-consonant words.
